Actor-producer Vishnu Vishal’s psycho-thriller ‘Aaryan’, directed by Praveen K, has undergone a significant re-edit just days after its theatrical release.
Sources confirm the team reduced the film’s climax sequence from nine minutes to just four minutes in response to mixed feedback from critics and audience members.
The film, which explores a serial killer with a controversial moral justification for his crimes, was praised for its gripping screenplay but heavily criticized for its ‘lopsided messaging’ and debatable climax.
To mitigate the negative reaction, the shortened version has been swiftly implemented in theatres, a move that will also apply to the upcoming Telugu release of the film.
Vishnu Vishal, whose production house Vishnu Vishal Studioz bankrolled the project, has shown a rare responsiveness to audience sentiment with this decision.
