It looks like Vijay’s upcoming film ‘Master’, which is slated to hit the screens on April 9 for Tamil New Year weekend, would not hit the screens as scheduled, due to coronavirus.

Since all shoots and film related works have been stopped, post-production works of the movie have taken a hit, sources said and added that since theatres too are closed and there is no clarity about when things would return to normalcy, the film’s release might be delayed.

The audio of ‘Master’ was launched at a low-key event in Chennai on Sunday evening. Vijay, who attended the event by wearing a blazer, started his speech with “En nenjil kudi irukkum…”

He then said: “I am sad that my fans couldn’t attend the audio launch. We did this as a private event due to coronavirus. Thank you and I am sorry.” “Like my friend Ajith, I’ve come dressed in a blazer,” he said, amid thunderous applause from the audience who were present.

Heaping laurels on VIjay Sethupathi, the antagonist of ‘Master’, he said, “Vijay Sethupathi has now become a person who cannot be avoided. We have seen many negative characters, but his role in Master will be special. I asked him why he agreed to do the film and he shut me down by saying four words – I really like you.”
