Bengaluru Cyber Crime Police have arrested three people as part of an investigation into AI-generated content targeting Rukmini Vasanth.
The action follows a complaint lodged by the actress after manipulated videos and images allegedly depicting her in revealing outfits began circulating widely on social media. Rukmini maintained that the visuals were fabricated using artificial intelligence and deepfake technology.
After receiving the complaint, cyber crime officials initiated an investigation to identify those responsible for creating and distributing the content. Their probe eventually led to the arrest of three suspects.
Police have also seized three mobile phones believed to be connected to the case. Further investigation is underway.
Rukmini Vasanth, who has gained significant recognition in recent years, is associated with major film projects including ‘Kantara: Chapter 1’, ‘Madarasi’ with Sivakarthikeyan, ‘Toxic’ alongside Yash, and ‘Dragon’ opposite Jr. NTR.
The arrests have been viewed as a significant step in addressing the growing misuse of AI tools for producing misleading and harmful content online. Fans and members of the film industry have welcomed the swift response from law enforcement authorities.
