‘Ponniyin Selvan’ is having a good run in the theatres and the occupancy in the theatres only continues to increase. Dhanush’s ‘Naane Varuven’ is the only movie to have been released with the Magnum Opus.
Owing to the emphatic occupancy of the movie theaters, few movies which were supposed to be released this week have been postponed.
Let us take a look at some of the movies whose release has been delayed.
Sathuranka Vettai 2: Aravind Swamy and Trisha’s ‘Sathuranka Vettai 2’ was slated to be released on 7 October. The story is written by H Vinoth, who directed ‘Sathuranka Vettai’, the film which is directed by Nirmal Kumar. ‘Sathuranga Vettai 2’ also features Indrajith Sukumaran, Prakash Raj, Daniel Balaji, Nassar, Radharavi, Sriman, and Yogi Babu in crucial roles. Ashwamithra has scored the music, while the cinematography is handled by K G Venkatesh.
Border: The makers of Arun Vijay’s ‘Border’ had announced that the movie will be released on 5 October. However, this has now been postponed. The movie is directed by Arivazhagan and has Regina Cassandra playing the female lead. Produced by All In Pictures Vijay Raghavendra the film is touted to be a spy thriller. The trailer of the movie was released recently and was received well by the audience.
Stefy Patel, Miss Teen International 2016, is being introduced to Tamil cinema via this project. Music for the movie is by Sam CS, cinematography by Rajasekar and editing by Sabu Joseph.
Coffee With Kadhal: Directed by Sundar C, the film has an ensemble of cast including Jiiva, Jai, Srikanth, Malavikka Sharma, Amritha Aiyer, Raiza Wilson, Aishwarya Dutta, Samyuktha and Divyadarshini among others. The film marks the second collaboration between Jiiva and Jai after 2018 film ‘Kalakalappu 2’ and marks the fourth collaboration between Sundar and music director Yuvan Shankar Raja. The nearly 2.5-minute long trailer looks really colourful and it is clearly a love story of three brothers. The new release date of the movie is yet to be announced.
Kasethan Kadavulada: ‘Kasethan Kadavulada’ is a remake of the 1972 film of the same name. The heist comedy is written and produced by Kannan. It stars Mirchi Shiva, Priya Anand, Yogi Babu, Thalaivasal Vijay, Urvashi, Karunakaran, Sivaangi Krishnakumar, Pugazh and Manobala. The plot revolves around a man trying to steal money from his stingy stepmother.
