Even as speculations about ‘Thuppakki 2’ became strong, it was said that Harris Jayaraj, who scored music for the first part, would be retained for the sequel too.
However, the latest information has it that Thaman has replaced Harris Jayaraj. Remember Thaman, who made his acting debut with Shankar’s ‘Boys’, is now one of the leading music composers in neighbouring Tollywood.
In a recent interview, the actor-turned-composer said, “I have been trying to collaborate with Vijay sir for the past three years. I have always admired his work and I am excited to work with him after the lockdown is over.”
After delivering three hits- ‘Thuppakki’, ‘Kaththi’ and ‘Sarkar’, the duo of Vijay and Murugadoss are set to join hands once again. Vijay is currently busy with ‘Master’, directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj. ‘Thuppakki’ is a 2012 action thriller film written and directed by Murugadoss. It stars Vijay and Kajal Aggarwal, with Sathyan, Vidyut Jammwal and Jayaram in supporting roles.
The film revolves around an Indian Army officer on a mission to track down, destroy and deactivate a sleeper cell, after witnessing and barely escaping a bomb blast executed by the cell.
