Jyotika-starer ‘Ponmagal Vandhal’, the first big Tamil film to be directly released on OTT platform, has been leaked online by piracy website Tamil Rockers.
While the film produced by Jyotika and Suriya was set to release on a digital platform at 12 AM today (May 29), it was already available on Tamil Rockers. Following this, the OTT platform released the movie ahead of its scheduled time.
This has shocked the movie’s team who are planning legal action, it is said. Meanwhile, Jyotika has revealed she has been only working on films produced by Suriya’s 2D Entertainment.
The actress said, “Only a few producers are ready to bankroll female-centric films. The success of 36 Vayadhinile paved the way for many such films. The advantage of working in 2D Entertainment is that I can say pack-up at 6 pm and go back home to look after my kids but I’m not sure whether I can say the same thing in other production houses”.
The movie, which is a legal drama, features Jyotika as a lawyer for the first time in her career and she fights for justice.
