Suriya may join hands with Mandaadi director Mathimaran for a high-octane coastal action film

Actor Suriya is reportedly in discussions with filmmaker Mathimaran Pugazhendi for a new project that could mark their first collaboration. The film, tentatively titled ‘Suriya49’, is said to be an action-packed drama unfolding against a coastal setting.

According to industry reports, the project may be produced by Kalaipuli S Thanu through his V Creations banner. However, an official announcement from the actor, director or production house is still awaited.

While details about the plot, cast and filming schedule remain under wraps, the project is reportedly envisioned on a large scale, with action and coastal elements forming a key part of its narrative.

Suriya and Thanu were earlier expected to collaborate on ‘Vaadivaasal’, the Vetri Maaran directorial that has been in development for an extended period. Production on the film has yet to begin.

Meanwhile, Suriya is gearing up for the release of ‘Scene’, an action-comedy directed by Jithu Madhavan, known for ‘Aavesham’. The film features Nazriya Nazim Fahadh and Naslen in prominent roles and is scheduled to release in theatres on November 6.

Produced by Jyothika and Suriya under Zhagaram Studios, the movie also stars Anandraj, Lal and Raj Priyan, among others.

The actor is additionally involved in a project with director T J Gnanavel, which is currently referred to as ‘Suriya48’. If the Mathimaran collaboration moves forward, it would add another major project to Suriya’s upcoming lineup.
