Shruti Haasan is not just an actress, but also a singer and a music composer. Shruti, who is playing the female lead in S P Jananathan-directed ‘Laabam’, which has Vijay Sethupathi as protagonist, has crooned for a song in the film.
The song composed by D Imman was recorded recently in the presence of Jananathan. The music director tweeted: “Roped in Shruti Haasan to render a melodious romantic track for Laabam… Can’t wait to share the the with you! Praise God!”
Lrics for the number have been penned by Yugabharathi. Kalaiyarasan, Prithvi, Danie and Jagapathi Babu play key roles in ‘Laabam’. Vijay Sethupathi is bankrolling the film under VSP Productions banner, along with Arumuga Kumar’s 7C’s Entertainment Pvt Ltd.
The name of Shruti Haasan’s character in ‘Laabam’, in which she is sharing the screen space for the first time with Vijay Sethupathi, is World Famous Clara. She is said to be playing a strong role in this flick, which talks about the travails of farmers.
Vijay Sethupathi and Jananathan had previously worked together in Purampokku, which also starred Arya as one of the leads. Since Shruti Haasan has teamed up with Vijay Sethupathi for the first time in this project, she is thrilled about it.
