Music composer Sai Abhyankkar has spoken about his rapid rise in the Tamil film industry, his upcoming projects and some of the collaborations he hopes to pursue in the future.
Speaking at the India Today Tamil Nadu Roundtable in Chennai on August 17, Sai recalled how unexpectedly his career had progressed since the release of his first song in 2024. The success of ‘Katchi Sera’ brought him widespread attention at a young age, and he is now working on ‘Raaka’, a project associated with filmmaker Atlee and actor Allu Arjun.
Sai said the scale of his current opportunities would have seemed unimaginable when he was starting out. He described the chance to work with Atlee and Allu Arjun as an important moment in his career and said he wanted to remain focused on improving his craft.
The composer also revealed that working with Christopher Nolan is one of his ambitions. He referred to a fan-made AI video in which Nolan appeared to speak about his music and said he hoped that a real collaboration with the acclaimed filmmaker could happen in the future.
Sai also addressed the one major opportunity involving Thalapathy Vijay that he feels he will miss. He said working with Vijay had been a personal dream and expressed disappointment that the possibility now appears unlikely.
Reflecting on Vijay’s changing public image, Sai said the actor’s popularity had expanded beyond the traditional boundaries of cinema. According to the composer, Vijay has evolved from a star primarily celebrated by movie audiences into a figure with much wider recognition.
At just 21, Sai has already experienced a rapid rise, but he acknowledged the pressure that accompanies early success. He also spoke about his forthcoming song ‘Radhimaa’ and his intention to remain consistent while taking on new challenges.
