Rajinikanth’s gestures to Raashii Khanna and Mohan Sharma reflect his spirituality and compassion

Superstar Rajinikanth has once again made headlines not just for his work in cinema, but also for two recent off-screen gestures that have drawn admiration from fans and colleagues alike.

Raashii Khanna, who is sharing screen space with the superstar in the upcoming film ‘Dharman’, recently revealed that a conversation on spirituality during filming led to an unexpected gift from Rajinikanth. The veteran actor presented her with a copy of ‘Living with the Himalayan Masters’ by Swami Rama after learning that she had not read it.

Sharing the experience on social media, Raashii said the book has become part of her daily reading routine and has encouraged her to reflect on themes such as self-awareness, meditation and personal growth. She also mentioned that Rajinikanth jokingly told her he would later quiz her on the book’s contents, adding a light-hearted touch to the thoughtful gesture.

Rajinikanth has long been associated with spiritual practices and is known to visit the Himalayas regularly for meditation and quiet reflection, especially between film commitments. His interest in spirituality has often influenced his interactions with friends and colleagues.

The superstar has also extended a helping hand to veteran actor-director Mohan Sharma, who has been facing financial difficulties. Reports state that Rajinikanth contributed ₹1 lakh after learning about Sharma’s situation.

Mohan Sharma, now in his 80s, has acted in more than 170 films across Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada cinema and has also produced several acclaimed projects. He recently came into the public eye after videos highlighting his financial struggles surfaced online. Currently residing at an old-age home near Chennai, Sharma had spoken about the challenges he faces in meeting basic medical expenses.

Rajinikanth’s financial support has been widely appreciated within the film industry, with many viewing it as another example of the actor’s willingness to stand by fellow artistes in need.
