Speculation surrounding Superstar Rajinikanth’s next film, tentatively titled ‘Thalaivar 173’, continues to gather momentum as reports indicate that shooting activities have begun in Chennai.
According to industry sources, portions of the film are currently being shot on an elaborate set in Poonamallee. While Rajinikanth has not yet joined the production, reports suggest that he is expected to begin filming soon, with an opening song sequence likely to be among his first scenes.
The project has been the subject of considerable discussion in recent months, particularly regarding its director. Although Cibi Chakravarthi was previously linked to the film, recent reports have indicated that ‘Dragon’ director Ashwath Marimuthu may now be leading the project. Interest in the collaboration increased after Raaj Kamal Film International publicly wished Ashwath on his birthday earlier this month.
Unconfirmed reports also suggest that filmmaker-actor Mysskin could feature in the cast following his recent collaboration with Ashwath. However, the makers have not officially revealed details about the storyline, supporting cast, technicians, or release plans.
