Actor Pawan, who played the role named Venkatesan, main antagonist Vaddakuran’s younger brother in Dhanush-starrer ‘Asuran’, made a controversial speech at the 100th day function of the movie in Chennai recently.

He said, “Earlier, I attended the 150th-day function of ‘Kuruvi’, but I am not sure whether it’s genuine or not but the success of ‘Asuran’ is real “, he said.

In his address, Dhanush attempted to put an end to the controversy triggered by Pawan and said: “In success functions like these,  we can be responsible only for our speeches and can’t scrutinize the speeches of others. I request everyone to only take good things from this event”.

However, a video of Pawan’s speech went viral on the internet and fans of Vijay started slamming him on social media. Following this, in an interview, the actor has apologised to Vijay and the whole team of ‘Kuruvi’.

It may be recalled that Pawan played a negative role in Vijay-starrer ‘Kuruvi’, which released in 2008. The film directed by Dharani had Trisha as heroine.
