Following weeks of intense social media speculation, Ajith Kumar’s longtime manager, Suresh Chandra, has officially quashed rumors that director Siruthai Siva would be replacing Adhik Ravichandran for the actor’s 64th film, tentatively titled AK64.
In a statement released on March 19, 2026, Chandra confirmed that the reports of a director change are “completely false” and that Adhik Ravichandran remains the director of the project.
The rumours had gained traction due to a perceived delay in the film’s production, which was originally slated to begin in February 2026.The delay is reportedly due to Ajith’s intensive commitments to his professional racing career with Ajith Kumar Racing, and the team is currently finalizing pre-production details.
Adhik Ravichandran, who previously directed Ajith in the 2025 blockbuster ‘Good Bad Ugly’ , has assured fans that AK64 will be a “proper action entertainer” with a strong emotional core designed to appeal to both die-hard fans and family audiences.
