Director Nelson Dilipkumar is basking in the success of his latest outing, ‘Jailer’, which has Rajinikanth in the lead.
The film has already raked in Rs 525 crore at the box office.
Even as Nelson basks in the success of ‘Jailer’, the director recently opened up about his shelved project ‘Vettai Mannan’ with Silambarasan.
Nelson said, “I think I have a bit more maturity today than when I worked on the project then. I see more flaws in the film now,” thus hinting that the project may not be revived after all.
Nelson added, “Simbu is my schoolmate. After school, I met him again on a show on Vijay TV. He asked if I could work with him in a film. That was the first time I had entered the cinema industry and had met very few people.”
Interestingly, Vettai Mannan was supposed to mark Nelson Dilipkumar’s debut as a director. The project had to be shelved midway.
The plot revolved around underworld assassins and was supposed to star Jai, Hansika and Deeksha Seth as well. Yuvan Shankar Raja was to score the music.
