Mysskin has great love and admiration for maestro Ilayaraja. The director-music composer duo’s last film was ‘Psycho’, which had Udhayanidhi Stalin, Nithya Menen and Aditi Rao Hydari in lead roles.

Talking about the ‘Unna nenachi…’ song from ‘Psycho’, the director said, “I told Raja sir that the song has to be his best work of the decade. Before I went to him, I worked for six months on that sequence.”

He said further; “I heard a lot of western classical, and I specifically asked Raja sir for BGMs that were, what do you say, surreal. Of course, he scolded me a lot, and I even said no to some of his tunes.”

Mysskin added: “He said, you rope in some other music composer. I told him, ‘no, I will work only with you’. I only insisted on getting Sid Sriram to sing. There were a lot of creative fights, but that kind of hard work paid off.”

According to Mysskin, every movie is like a baby. “There’s hard work involved, but you don’t feel it because you like doing it,” he added.
