December might be the last month of the year, however, it seems to be a good start for cine buffs as a number of highly anticipated movies are set to release this month.

With the Tamil Nadu government recently allowing theaters to allow 100 percent occupancy, Rajinikanth’s ‘Annathae’ and Simbhu’s ‘Maanadu’ got tremendous response in theaters.

Let us take a look at some of the movies which will be released this month.

The movie directed by Vasantha Balan has G V Prakash and Aparnathi in the lead roles. The movie will be released on 9 December and has been cleared by the censor board with U/A certificate. ‘Jail’ is reported to revolve around a housing board area. The star cast of the movie also includes Radhika, Yogibabu, Robo Shankar and Ravi Maria. G V Prakash has also scored the music for the movie. The project is bankrolled by Sridharan Mariathasan under the Krikes Cine Creations banner.

Spider-Man: No Way Home:
Tom Holland starrer Spider-Man: No Way Home, which was earlier scheduled to hit Indian theatres on December 17, will now release a day earlier to treat fans.

The new instalment of the ‘Spider-Man’ franchise, will start from where the previous ‘Spider-Man: Far From Home’ left off. It also features all the villains from its universe.

The film, which also stars Zendaya, will also have appearances from Benedict Cumberbatch as Doctor Strange, Jacob Batalon as Ned Leeds and Marisa Tomei as Aunt May. Expectations are sky high for this flick.

Chithirai Sevvanam:
Pooja Kannan, the sister of Telugu and Tamil actor Sai Pallavi, makes her debut with Chithirai Sevvanam, a film that revolves around a touching father-daughter story that also stars Samuthirakani in the lead. Actor Rima Kallingal is on the cast list, playing a cop, as per reports. Popular stunt actor Stunt Silva has directed Chithirai Sevvanam, which is looking at a release on online streaming platform ZEE5.

The multi-starrer ‘Pushpa: The Rise’ boasts of a stellar cast that includes Allu Arjun, Fahadh Faasil and Rashmika Mandanna, making it an unmissable watch this film season. The first of two parts, ‘Pushpa’ is a thriller set in Andhra Pradesh’s Seshachalam Hills and revolves around real events of sandalwood smuggling in the area.

One day, many releases:
On 3 December, G V Prakash’s Bachelor, Sandy’s ‘3.33’, Prabhu Deva’s ‘Thael’, Atharvaa’s ‘Thallipogathey’ and Blue Sattai Maran’s ‘Anti India’ will be released.

Apart from these movies Atharvaa’s ‘Kuruthi Aatam’ is slated to release on 10 December, Arun Vijay’s ‘Border’ will be releasing on 24 December.
