The survival thriller ‘Manjummel Boys,’ directed by Chidambaram, was the major winner at the 55th Kerala State Film Awards, sweeping an impressive nine awards including the top honours for Best Film and Best Director.
The film was also recognized in several technical categories, securing trophies for Best Cinematography, Best Art Direction, Best Sound Designing, and Best Sound Mixing.
Meanwhile, Malayalam superstar Mammootty broke a record by winning his seventh Best Actor award for his chilling performance in the horror drama ‘Bramayugam’.
The Best Actress award went to homemaker-turned-actor Shamla Hamza for her role in ‘Feminichi Fathima’.
Other notable wins include Premalu for Best Popular Film and Soubin Shahir (for Manjummel Boys) sharing the Best Character Artist (Male) award with Sidharth Bharathan.
