The Madras High Court has ordered a formal investigation into a story-theft allegation against the upcoming Sivakarthikeyan starrer ‘Parasakthi’.
The legal action follows a petition filed by assistant director Rajendran, who claims that the film’s core plot was stolen from his original registered work titled Chemmozhi. Rajendran alleges that the makers used his creative work without permission or proper compensation.
The court has directed the South Indian Film Writers’ Association to compare both scripts and submit a detailed report by January 2, 2026.
This period drama, directed by Sudha Kongara, was originally set for a grand Pongal release on January 10.
Industry insiders are now concerned that the legal deadlock could force a delay, potentially shifting one of the year’s most anticipated box-office clashes.
