ZEE5 on Thursday announced a new release date for its upcoming docu-drama series ‘Koose Munisamy Veerappan’.
The streaming platform made the announcement on the eve of the originally planned premiere date of December 8.
While the cause of the last-minute delay remains unclear, the new release date has been disclosed.
‘Koose Munisamy Veerappan’ will become available for streaming on December 14.
The series seems to feature people, who are sympathetic to Veerappan. For example, the series features politician-filmmaker Seeman, who asks a rarely asked question, “While Veerappan smuggled elephant tusks and sandalwood and remained in forests, where were those who bought these things from him?.”
Popular journalist Nakkheeran Gopal also features in the series and claims that previous stories about Veerappan have been one-sided and solely based on police records.
The trailer for ‘Koose Munisamy Veerappan’ ended with a tape showing Veerappan appealing to viewers, “I will tell you my life’s story. After that you decide for yourself who’s in the wrong – me or the government.”
