The highly anticipated release of Dulquer Salmaan’s period horror-thriller ‘Kaantha’ has been postponed.
The film, which was originally scheduled to hit theaters on September 12, was delayed to allow the successful theatrical run of Dulquer’s other production, ‘Lokah: Chapter 1 – Chandra’, to continue without competition.
In a joint statement, Dulquer and co-producer Rana Daggubati explained the strategic decision, stating their desire to let Lokah’s box office “rampage keep soaring.”
The decision, while disappointing for fans who were eagerly awaiting ‘Kaantha’, highlights a rare show of support within the industry to prevent two major releases from cannibalizing each other’s success. A new release date for ‘Kaantha’ is expected to be announced soon.
