The team of ‘Om’ has roped in acclaimed actor Naseeruddin Shah has come on board the film, marking his return to Tamil cinema after a gap of 26 years.
Directed by Rajkumar Periasamy, the film stars Dhanush in the lead, alongside Mammootty, Sai Pallavi, Sreeleela and Indrans. Shah was last seen in Tamil in Kamal Haasan’s ‘Hey Ram’ (2000), where he portrayed Mahatma Gandhi.
The film also reunites Naseeruddin Shah and Mammootty after their memorable collaboration in the Malayalam film ‘Ponthan Mada’. Fans are also looking forward to Rajkumar Periasamy joining hands again with Sai Pallavi after Amaran, while Dhanush and Sai Pallavi reunite after Maari 2. Mammootty, meanwhile, returns to Tamil cinema following his acclaimed performance in Peranbu.
Produced by Wunderbar Films and R Take Studios, the film has music by Sai Abhyankkar, cinematography by Ezhil Arasu, editing by Kalaivanan, choreography by Sandy and action sequences designed by Yannick Ben. While the makers have kept the plot under wraps, the addition of Naseeruddin Shah has further heightened expectations for the ambitious project.
