Actor Dhanush has showered praise on his father, Kasthuri Raja, after watching the recently released drama ‘Habeebi’. The actor explained that he had been unable to watch the film earlier due to his demanding work schedule. After finally catching up with it, he expressed pride in Kasthuri Raja for embracing a challenging role and delivering a convincing performance. Set in a handloom town near Tirunelveli, ‘Habeebi’ follows the journey of Yousuf, a weaver determined to preserve his family’s traditional craft in the face of changing times. Alongside this narrative, the film explores a tender love story that unfolds over several decades, reflecting the social and cultural transformations experienced by the community.
The film stars Kasthuri Raja and Esha M in lead roles, with supporting performances from Malavika Manoj, Dhanasree Sudhakaran, Arulkumar and Anusreya Rajan. Music composer Sam CS has provided both the songs and background score, contributing to the film’s emotional tone.
Meanwhile, Dhanush continues to stay busy on the professional front. The actor was recently seen in ‘Kara’, which followed the story of a former thief attempting to reclaim his family’s ancestral land.
