Former Indian cricketer and Chennai Super Kings (CSK) icon, Suresh Raina, affectionately known as Chinna Thala by his fans, is officially making his acting debut.
Raina is set to star in an upcoming Tamil film, a cricket-themed venture tentatively titled Production Number One’.
The film will be directed by Logan and produced by D Saravana Kumar under the newly launched banner Dream Knight Stories Private Limited (DKS).
The official announcement was made at a ceremony held in Chennai on Friday evening, which also marked the unveiling of the DKS production house.
Raina joined the event virtually from Amsterdam, expressing his excitement for this new chapter. “DKS has a good director, and when the story was narrated to me, it felt very close to our journey,” Raina shared. “Being a cricket-based movie, it had to start from Tamil Nadu because I’ve played many matches here for CSK, and the people have always shown immense love,” he added.
The film boasts a high-profile technical crew, including cinematographer Sandeep K Vijay, production designer T Muthuraj, and stunt choreographer Supreme Sundar.
Adding to the star power, Oscar-winning sound designer Resul Pookutty is on board, with Santosh Narayana composing the music. Fellow CSK cricketer Shivam Dube released the first teaser of the announcement video.
