The South Indian Actors Association (Nadigar Sangam) has officially condemned recent remarks made by veteran Telugu actor Rajendra Prasad regarding the legendary MGR.
During a recent interview, Prasad allegedly made “derogatory and insensitive” comments about the late Puratchi Thalaivar’s personal life and political legacy.
The Association has demanded an immediate and public apology, stating that such remarks hurt the sentiments of millions and disrespect a foundational figure of South Indian cinema.
Senior members of the Sangam have noted that if an apology is not forthcoming, they may escalate the matter to the Film Chambers of both states for further action.
The issue has sparked a heated debate on social media, with fans and industry peers divided over the boundaries of free speech versus respect for iconic figures.
