The Madras High Court has ordered actor Vishal to post a guarantee of Rs 8.29 crore to cover the losses incurred in the ‘Action’ film.

The direction was issued based on a plea by ‘Action’ producer Ravindran of Trident Arts who approached the Madras High court stating that Vishal owed the production house Rs 8 crore, to settle the losses of their film.

He also wanted to stay the release of Vishal’s next outing ‘Chakra’ which was supposed to premiere on September 30 on a leading OTT platform. During its previous hearing the court refused to extend the stay on the film’s release.

Ravindran alleged that that he had produced ‘Action’ at an exorbitant budget of 44 crores after signing an agreement with the actor. Vishal had promised Ravindran that he would refund the losses incurred if ‘Action’ doesn’t yield a share of 20 crores from Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, and Telangana.

Ravindran also said that he wanted Vishal to act in another film under his banner to make up for the shortfall in theatre collections of ‘Action’ and the actor also agreed to do so sometime next year.
