The makers of Arun Vijay’s upcoming film with director Muthaiya have announced several additions to the cast and technical team. The project, which is yet to receive an official title, marks Arun Vijay’s 38th film as a lead actor. The team has also announced that the first look of the movie will be unveiled on August 12.
Actors Samuthirakani, Mirnaa Menon and John Kokken have joined the cast. Mirnaa is known for her appearance in ‘Jailer’, while John Kokken featured in Pa Ranjith’s ‘Sarpatta Parambarai’.
Muthaiya, who is known for films such as Karthi’s ‘Komban’, is directing the project. The filmmaker is expected to bring his distinctive rural storytelling style to his latest collaboration with Arun Vijay.
The film is being produced by Shanmugavel Pandian under the Nethaji Productions banner. The production house was previously behind Mohan G’s ‘Draupathi 2’. Ghibran has been signed to compose the music for the film, continuing his association with the production banner. Cinematographer Gopinath and editor R Kalaivanan are also part of the technical crew.
Arun Vijay had announced his collaboration with Muthaiya earlier this year during an interaction with the media. The actor’s most recent release was ‘Retta Thala’, which arrived in 2025. For Muthaiya, the project follows his latest release ‘Rambo’, starring Arulnithi, which was also released in 2025.
