Following intense rumors claiming that director Arun Matheswaran had exited the highly anticipated Ilaiyaraaja biopic, Dhanush’s team has issued a stern clarification.
The actor’s publicist, Riyaz K Ahmed, took to social media on February 9 to debunk the reports, stating that the Captain Miller director is very much a part of the project as planned.
The statement clarified that Arun Matheswaran is currently busy with the final stages of DC, a film that marks the acting debut of director Lokesh Kanagaraj.
Once that project is wrapped, work on the Ilaiyaraaja biopic starring Dhanush will begin.
Shooting for the musical epic is expected to commence in April 2026, with Anirudh Ravichander reportedly onboard to handle the musical score.
