Ajith Kumar has several projects reportedly in the pipeline, and the actor could be set for another major collaboration after completing his current commitments.
Ajith is gearing up to work with director Adhik Ravichandran once again following their recent association on ‘Good Bad Ugly’. Their upcoming film, currently titled ‘Dare Devil’, is said to be designed as a family-oriented entertainer and is expected to have a different flavour from their previous outing.
The actor is also reportedly in discussions for a possible sequel to the 2011 hit ‘Mankatha’, with director Venkat Prabhu. While there is no official confirmation regarding the sequel, the project has been the subject of speculation for some time.
Amid these reports, a new claim has emerged suggesting that Ajith could collaborate with director Shankar. According to a report by Touring Talkies, the proposed project may take shape after Ajith completes ‘Dare Devil’ and ‘Mankatha 2’, should the latter materialise.
The report further suggests that discussions surrounding the proposed Shankar-Ajith film have progressed to the stage where the script and estimated budget are reportedly being worked out.
Shankar has previously been associated with plans to bring the epic novel ‘Velpari’ to the big screen on a large scale. If the reported collaboration with Ajith takes shape, his other plans could potentially be pushed back.
There has been no official word from Ajith Kumar or Shankar confirming the reported project. Meanwhile, ‘Dare Devil’, which was earlier referred to as AK64, was recently announced as Ajith’s next collaboration with Adhik Ravichandran. Anirudh Ravichander is composing the music, marking another association with Ajith after ‘Vedalam’ and ‘Vidaamuyarchi’.
Adhik had earlier indicated that his next film with Ajith would be aimed at a broad audience and would have a strong family-entertainer appeal. The filmmaker has also hinted that the project will contain several elements that audiences may not expect.
