Oscar-Grammy winner A R Rahman has expressed displeasure over remixes of his songs. In an interview, the music maestro said that he is happy with only one remix of his song- ‘The Humma Song’ (‘OK Jaanu’ or ‘OK Kanmani’).
The song was a remake of ‘Humma Humma’ from the film ‘Bombay’ (1995). The remix, Rahman said, went with the movie and helped it. Both films are helmed by Mani Ratnam.
However, after that he didn’t like any of the remixes, some of which he described as “really disastrous and very annoying”. Rahman also said that he told the company that he’ll be trolled if he supported such remixes.
Rahman further said that he is happy that people are realising the value of original music and how it takes a lot of hard work and love to find a song for the movie.
On not composing for Hindi flicks lately, he said that he has been busy with other things – like his films,’ 99 Songs’ and ‘Dil Bechara’, which are yet to release.
Rahman also said that he was also busy composing for Tamil films as well as his productions, building a studio, spending time with his kids and nurturing them into musicians.
