Actor-filmmaker Gaurav Narayanan has expressed disappointment over youngsters coming out in large numbers and playing cricket on Sunday, at a time when Covid-19 pandemic is spreading fast in the country.
The maker of films like ‘Thoonga Nagaram’ and ‘Ippadai Vellum’ posted, “Irresponsible to the core. The youngsters are aware of the situation but simply don’t care abt their family members, the front line Covid workers who risk their lives , government and others. Huge spike expected next month. The govt have to take some serious action. Pathetic…”
Asking everyone to act responsibly, he had posted recently, “High time to act responsibly. So many challenges ahead in the coming days. have to be safe and secure. corona is still out there …beware.”
In July, Gaurav had released a video slamming the YouTube channel Karuppar Koottam for its video on Kandha Sashti Kavasam. He had also warned those behind the channel that belittling the beliefs of believers will only lead to the group’s destruction.
“Matha pitha guru deivam.. Do you know why deivam has been placed last in this list? It takes a good mother to learn about a father. It is a good father who takes you to a guru. And you need a good guru to show you the path to god. So, only those who did not get a good mother, father or guru will alone be unable to see God. You will not even be able to see the entity called God. There is no god is what your Karuppar Koottam group’s belief. Let that be so. Our belief is that God exists. What joy do you get in talking obscenely about our beliefs?”
