Steady and sturdy
Vadhandhi
– Review
Vadhandhi – The Fable of Velonie’ is the story of how a police officer sets out on a mission to find the mystery behind the death of an 18-year-old woman named Velonie.
Director Andrew Louis takes his time to establish the world of Velonie. He does not directly give us the direct detailing of what kind of person Veloine is.
All we get to know about Velonie is from a third person’s view. The makers have not rushed to feed the details to the audience, instead they give them time to ponder on what will happen next.
S J Suryah as the cop is more like the audience trying to put together the pieces about Velonie. S J Suryah keeps his cool throughout the investigation, however this causes a strain in his personal relationship.
All these are effectively communicated by Suryah. Laila makes a major impact on Velonie’s mother.
She is impressive in her role and stands out. Rest of the cast including Vivek Prasanna, Hareesh Peradi, Smruthi Venkat and Kumaran have all done their part well.
The film is technically sound as well. Simon K King’s background score gels well with the theme of the movie.
Saravanan Ramasamy’s photography makes good use of the landscapes to make the audience feel to be present at the moment.
