The story begins in the 18th century. A king, played by Lal, is suffering from a one-of-its-kind illness.
Even the best doctors of the time can’t come up with a medicine to end his torment.
The king summons his commander and orders him to bring him the most beautiful woman in the kingdom.
Asif Ali, the king’s loyal commander, sets off to execute the order of the king.
The story then cuts back to the present day where Nivin Pauly, a sage, is accused of stealing the idol of the main deity in a temple.
He is a man of supernatural powers and has knowledge about the universe itself. He seems to be in the past and the present at once.
Both history and the future seem to be unfolding together at the same time.
Director Shine and writer Mukundan have created something creative with the movie.
The issue of how influential and powerful people use the law against the common people is conveyed in an effective and creative manner.
Nivin Pauly is brilliant as the sage and has portrayed his character well. Asif Ali as the loyal commander shines in his role.
Rest of the cast including Lal, Lalu Alex, Siddique and Srivastava have also lived upto the expectations.
Ishaan Chhabra’s music is effective for the theme of the movie. Selvaraj Chandru’s camerawork is impressive.
