Vengai’s friend’s sister is in trouble due to a gang that sells ganja. Vengai, who saves his friend’s sister from them, decides to destroy their drug empire.
Since Vengai would be a problem for their ganja business if he were alive, the ganja gang kills him through his friend.
Vengai’s mother and Appukutty take the field to avenge the death of Vengai.
The story of ‘Kalan’ is an action-packed and socially necessary story of the events that take place after that.
Veeramurugan, who has written and directed the movie, has given a very emotional film based on the main issue happening in the society at the moment.
In particular, he has recorded the increasing plight of the drug culture in Tamil Nadu and the cries of the women affected by it, and has also recorded the harsh punishment that should be given to the criminals.
Deepa, who plays the role of a loving mother in the role of Kaliammal has done complete justice to her character.
Appukutty, who plays the hardworking and affectionate younger brother, has added strength to the screenplay with his realistic performance and has shown his murderous fervor in an unexpected role.
Sampath Ram, who plays the villain, has got a huge opportunity and has made the most of it.
Rest of the cast have also delivered what was expected from them and have given a satisfying performance.
Cinematographers Jayakumar and JK have depicted the lives of the people of the southern district in a natural and grand manner. Rest of the technical apsects of the movie are passable.
