When star power meets grand ambition

“Hari Hara Veera Mallu”

– Review

Set against the backdrop of the Mughal Empire, ‘Hari Hara Veera Mallu’ introduces Pawan Kalyan as the titular character, a legendary outlaw reminiscent of a Robin Hood figure.

His mission involves a daring heist to retrieve the fabled Kohinoor diamond from the clutches of the ruthless Emperor Aurangzeb (Bobby Deol), while simultaneously fighting for the oppressed and upholding ‘Dharma’.

The film attempts to blend historical elements with fictionalized heroism, setting the stage for a larger-than-life saga.

Directed by Krish Jagarlamudi, with additional direction by A.M. Jyothi Krishna, the film attempts to transport audiences to the 17th century, weaving a tale of heroism, rebellion, and historical intrigue.

Pawan Kalyan is the film’s backbone. He carries the weight of the narrative with his powerful screen presence and delivers electrifying performances in the action sequences. His dialogue delivery, particularly in emotionally charged scenes, resonates with his signature gravitas.

Bobby Deol as Aurangzeb makes a menacing impression, though his screen time in this first part is limited, primarily setting up a larger confrontation for the sequel.

Nidhhi Agerwal as Panchami delivers a graceful performance, along with other supporting actors like Sathyaraj helps in taking the plot forward.

M.M. Keeravani’s musical score is another significant asset, consistently elevating the emotional and dramatic moments.

The action choreography stands out as a major highlight; sequences like the Machilipatnam port fight, the Charminar battle, and the wrestling match are executed with impressive scale and deliver genuine cinematic thrills.

The VFX could have been better, as it feels subpar at times. Rest of the technical aspects of the movie are passable.

Rating: 3.6/5
