As ‘Shamitabh’, in which he co-starred alongside Amitabh Bachchan and Akshara Haasan marked its fifth anniversay, Dhanush took to social media to thank the ‘Big B’.
Tweeting out a still from his 2015 Hindi film, the National Award winning actor said, “5 years of Shamitabh .. thank you Amitabh Bachchan ji, PC Sreeram sir and R Balki for giving me this gem.”
For his part, cinematographer P C Sreeram posted: “It looks like yesterday. Many loved it. Many critics had their point of view. Balki brought the best out of Dhanush & Akshara Hassan. Audience loved their performance. Balki’s tribute to Amitabh Bachchan’s voice which has mesmerised all over the years.”
‘Shamitabh’ is a 2015 Indian satirical drama film written and directed by R Balki. The film features Amitabh Bachchan, Dhanush and debutante Akshara Haasan, in her debut, in the lead roles.
The film is jointly produced by Sunil Lulla, Balki, Rakesh Jhunjhunwala, R K Damani, Amitabh Bachchan, Abhishek Bachchan under their respective production banners. Ilaiyaraaja composed the soundtrack album and background score, while cinematography was handled by P C Sreeram.
