Many of us know Ajith and Vishnuvardhan share a close rapport and the two had worked together in films such as ‘Billa’ and ‘Aarambam’. With the latter entering Bollywood, the former has wished him all success.
As soon as the actor, who is fondly called as ‘Thala’ by his fans, came to know that the director was working on his debut Bollywood film ‘Shershaah’, he called him and said: “You have gone to Bollywood a bit late but good things will happen from now”.
A biopic of Captain Vikram Bhatra, ‘Shershaah’ will featue Siddharth Malhotra and Kiara Advani in the lead roles. Shooting for the movie has ended and post-production is expected to commence as soon as the ongoing lockdown due to coronavirus is lifted after May 3.
In an interview with a Tamil weekly magazine, the ‘Arindhum Ariyamalum’ and ‘Pattiyal’ maker said that Ajith offered him the chance to direct ‘Billa’ because the actor knew him well on the sets of ‘Ashoka’ in which Vishnuvardhan worked as an associate.
‘Shershaah’ is co-produced by Karan Johar. Tracing the life journey of Param Vir Chakra awardee and army captain Vikram Batra, it stars Sidharth Malhotra in a double role, as Batra and his identical twin brother Vishal; Kiara Advani plays the female lead.
