The first look of Shriya Saran’s upcoming film ‘Gamanam’ was released to mark the actress’ birthday and she looked dejected in the poster.

Directed by newcomer Sujana Rao and produced by cinematographer Gnana Shekar V S, a regular cameraman for director Krish’s movies, the film is to be released in Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam, and Hindi languages.

It has musical score by maestro Ilayaraja. “I play a mute girl in the film. It’s a very raw, earthy character and I really enjoyed playing it. It’s a woman-centric role by a woman director and it’s exactly what Telugu cinema needs right now. I can’t wait for the audience to see me in this avatar,” Shriya said.

On working with director S S Rajamouli for ‘RRR’, she said, “Although it’s a cameo appearance, it felt great to work with Rajamouli again after ‘Chatrapathi’. He has a grand vision and he’s trying something very different. Just being on the sets of ‘RRR’ made me feel like I was part of something very special. I hope this pandemic is over soon so that they can wrap up the shoot and release the film.”
