Legendary Tamil filmmaker Bharathiraja has been admitted to a private hospital in Chennai for routine health monitoring and preventive care.
The 82-year-old director, who recently returned from Malaysia, is reportedly stable.
His family confirmed that he is undergoing check-ups and is doing well, urged fans not to panic.
The industry and fans alike have been sending prayers for the “Imayam” of Tamil cinema, who has been keeping a low profile following the tragic demise of his son, Manoj Bharathiraja, earlier this year.
Hospital sources indicate that the veteran filmmaker is under observation in a special ward and is responding well to the preventative treatments.
