Filmmaker Susi Ganeshan is making his comeback to Tamil cinema with a new project titled ‘Orenda’, marking his first directorial venture since ‘Thiruttu Payale 2’ (2017).
Ahead of the title announcement, the production team released a promotional video featuring people from different parts of Chennai guessing the meaning of the word “Orenda,” creating curiosity among audiences. A follow-up teaser officially revealed Susi Ganeshan as the director and offered brief behind-the-scenes footage from the film.
While the makers have not disclosed the cast or storyline, the visuals suggest that ‘Orenda’ will be an action-oriented entertainer. They also revealed that around 85% of the filming has already been completed.
Susi Ganeshan began his directorial career with ‘Five Star’ (2002), which introduced actors Prasanna and Kanika. He later directed films including ‘Virumbukiren’, ‘Thiruttu Payale’, ‘Kanthaswamy’, and ‘Thiruttu Payale 2’. Several of his early works received recognition at the Tamil Nadu State Film Awards.
