Nayanthara and Vignesh Shivan tied the knot in June this year and cut to five months, the couple welcomed twins. Many felt that the babies might have been conceived through surrogacy. If this is true there are a few guidelines that have to be followed in India.
The Tamilnadu government has said that a detailed inquiry would be called into the issue and the Directorate of Medical Services was asked to take care of the investigation into the sensitive matter.
“The surrogacy itself is subjected to a lot of debates. But, the law allows individuals to be involved in surrogacy if they are above 21 years and below 36 years of age, with the approval of the family,” Tamilnadu Health Minister Ma Subramanian said speaking to the media.
