Prabhu Deva and Simran are set to reunite as the lead pair in a new romantic entertainer, bringing them together on screen more than 25 years after their previous collaborations in ‘VIP’ and ‘Time’.
The actors appeared together in the two films released in 1997 and 1999, respectively. Both projects were noted for their music, making their upcoming reunion particularly interesting for audiences who remember the pair’s earlier work.
The new film is written and directed by Krishnanand Kottarapattu and is being positioned as a heart-warming love story intended for family audiences. With romance at its centre, the project aims to offer an engaging cinematic experience for viewers across generations.
Music composer GV Prakash Kumar has been brought on board to create the soundtrack. His involvement adds to the anticipation surrounding the film, especially given the musical legacy of Prabhu Deva and Simran’s earlier collaborations.
The cast also features Mithun Jai Sankar and Smeha. Filming took place in Munnar and Chennai and was completed in a single schedule. The production has now reached the final stages of completion.
The project marks another association between Zion Films and MRP Entertainment, following their work together on ‘With Love’. MRP Entertainment has also been involved in films such as ‘Good Night’, ‘Lover’ and ‘Tourist Family’.
The technical team includes Sharan Velayudhan as cinematographer and Raja Arumugam as editor. Rajeevan is responsible for production design, while Shekar oversees the art direction. Anu Vardhan and Navaa Rajkumar are handling costume design, and Mahesh Mathew is designing the stunt sequences.
The reunion of Prabhu Deva and Simran provides a nostalgic element to the film, while the new storyline is intended to appeal to contemporary audiences. With GV Prakash Kumar composing the music and the makers promising a family-friendly romantic narrative, the project is shaping up as an interesting addition to the upcoming film lineup.
