‘Laandhar’ Movie Review by Naveen

Slow and steady

Laandhar

– Review

Coimbatore city Assistant Commissioner Vidharth is a very honest officer. One night, a man wearing a black raincoat starts to kill everyone in sight using a weapon. Some police officers also get injured while trying to catch him.

Cops chase the suspect during which he is hit by a police vehicle and dies.

But it turns out that he is not the murderer and it is found that the actual accused is in another place.

A team of cops head to that place to nab the murderer. Rest of the story is whether the police department is able to catch the killer.

Directed by Saji Saleem, the first half of the movie is very engaging. The screenplay moves at a brisk pace. However, the plot loses steam in the second half once the identity of the criminal is revealed.

Vidharth has done a good job as a police officer and a loving husband.

Although there are two heroines in the film, Sahana and Shweta, it is Sahana who steals the show. She has given many expressed emotions like love, stress and anger very well.

Rest of the cast including Gajaraj, Vibin and Pasupathi Raj have all delivered what was expected from them.

Gnanasaundhar’s cinematography and Praveen’s music are the reasons to enjoy the film to some extent. Rest of the technical aspects of the movie are good as well.

Rating: 3.8/5
