‘Indian 3’ gets back on track: Rajinikanth steps in to reunite Kamal Haasan and Shankar?

The much-anticipated third installment of the ‘Indian’ franchise, ‘Indian 3,’ has reportedly gotten back on track, dispelling earlier speculations of its shelving following the mixed reception of ‘Indian 2.’
Sources suggest a crucial development that has revitalized the project: lead actor Kamal Haasan and director Shankar are said to be willing to complete the remaining portions of the film without receiving additional remuneration.

The production of ‘Indian 3’ was reportedly halted despite nearly 80-90% of the shooting being completed, largely due to concerns arising from the lukewarm response to ‘Indian 2,’ particularly regarding its VFX and screenplay. There were also reports of financial disagreements between the production team and the lead actor and director over pending payments for the remaining schedule.

However, recent reports indicate that Superstar Rajinikanth played a pivotal role in mediating between Kamal Haasan, Shankar, and the producers, facilitating a reconciliation and paving the way for the film’s completion. This initiative is seen as a significant step towards ensuring a strong comeback for both Shankar and Kamal Haasan.

With only a song and a few key scenes remaining to be shot, the film is now racing towards a potential December 2025 release, aiming to meet the high expectations set by the original.
