The significance of Raksha Bandhan – On this day, sisters pray for their brothers’ long life when they tie a rakhi on their wrists on this day. The brothers vow to protect their sisters for the rest of their lives in exchange.
Meaning of Rakshak – The one who protects, guards, saviour, takes care of our Nation Internally & Externally, not to divulge our secrets, to preserve our culture and tradition, save, keep us away from attacks by terrorists and anti-social elements.
As we celebrate the Raksha Bandhan every year as a family affair, in this year let us celebrate it as “Rakshak Bandhan”.
Our Armed forces & Defence Establishments and various types of Police Forces of our Nation, stay in duty all the time, without looking at the time for our Rakshak, that is safety.
What do we do for them in return? Only a salute and few emotional moments or words of consolation.
Why don’t we add a new dimension to our festivals to include these warriors, who selflessly stay at the borders or within the Country, not minding the heat or cold weather, on constant vigil to protect and guard us and our Country.
Their family members live, eat & sleep only with the hope that their son, brother, father or husband who is at the border, remained safe.
Most of these soldiers and warriors know pretty well about the risk of their lives and still dare to stay on duty to protect all of us.
Is it not our duty as the Citizen of this sacred Nation to pray for them and their lives and the wellness and well being of their family members.
They as security, armed forces do not see any differences as they safeguard our Nation as a whole.
Is it not shameful that, we who live in all comforts, get carried away by negative sentiments and fight amongst us in the name of religion, caste, language or region.
Respect our Rakshaks’ on this day of Rakshak Bandhan (Raksha Bandhan) and pray in unison for them and their families well being.
