Shabirʼs next single, Thanimai, explores what it is like for lovers to not know when theyʼd be able to see each other next. Inspired by real stories of couples being separated, this catchy indie-pop promises to make you hug (or squeeze) your partner a little tighter the next time you see them.
Thanimaiʼs reflective lyrics are instantly relatable and set a mood which will transport you back to time spent together with your beloved in a way that is “je nai sais quoi” where time seems to standstill. This was captured beautifully in the music video directed by Yahssir M, where it showcases the little things that make a relationship special like, the way your partner likes their morning brew or the familiar smell of his or her shirt which makes your heart flutter. The concept of being so close yet so far from each other is also artistically displayed during the melodious musical interlude.
Shabir is a multiple award-winning singer-songwriter and composer. He works prolifically in the Tamil cinema industry with 7 films in his repertoire. Recently one of his tracks Yaayum from the film Sagaa, went on to cross 100 million views on YouTube for lyric and music video collectively.
