Director Venky Atluri has confirmed that a sequel to the hit film ‘Lucky Baskhar’ is in development, assuring fans that the project is part of his future plans.
Although the filmmaker did not reveal a production timeline, he said the follow-up will move forward after he completes his current commitments.
Released in 2024, ‘Lucky Baskhar’ starred Dulquer Salmaan as a struggling bank employee whose pursuit of financial security gradually draws him into a dangerous network of illegal money laundering operations. The film received praise from both audiences and critics, emerging as one of the year’s notable commercial successes.
Produced by Sithara Entertainments in collaboration with Fortune Four Cinemas, the film also featured Meenakshi Chaudhary in a leading role, while GV Prakash Kumar composed the soundtrack.
The film recently added another milestone by winning the Best Dialogues honour at the 72nd National Film Awards. Venky Atluri received the recognition for his writing, further strengthening the film’s reputation.
With confirmation that a sequel is on the horizon, fans can expect the ‘Lucky Baskhar’ story to continue, though the project will begin only after the director wraps up his ongoing assignments.
