Actor Varun Tej, who is currently promoting his recently released horror comedy ‘Korean Kanakaraju’, has confirmed that he will be sharing the screen with his father Nagababu in his next film, ‘Bhari’.
During promotional interactions, Varun revealed that both he and his father will portray a father-son duo in the film, making it their first substantial collaboration. He said the opportunity had been discussed years ago during the making of ‘Kanche’, but the idea did not materialize at the time because they wanted to wait for a story that justified their pairing.
Directed by Yadhu Vamsee, known for Committee Kurrallu, ‘Bhari’ is a period drama set against the backdrop of volleyball. The film is being produced by Niharika Konidela, Varun’s sister, and was officially launched earlier this year in the presence of their uncle and Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan.
Production, however, has been affected after Varun suffered a leg injury while training for the volleyball-based drama. The actor later underwent surgery and is currently recovering. Despite the setback, he actively participated in promotional activities for ‘Korean Kanakaraju’.
Varun has indicated that he will resume filming once he completes his rehabilitation, which is expected to take a few months. As a result, ‘Bhari’, which had initially been eyed for a Sankranthi release, is now likely to arrive at a later date.
