Director Sujeeth has directly addressed the persistent comparisons between his highly-anticipated Pawan Kalyan starrer, ‘They Call Him OG’, and Ajith Kumar’s ‘Good Bad Ugly’ (GBU), helmed by Adhik Ravichandran. The two projects have been frequently juxtaposed by fans due to their shared themes of gangsters and apparent Yakuza elements.
In a recent interview, Sujeeth clarified the matter, focusing on the chronological order of the projects and expressing professional camaraderie with the other director.
Sujeeth emphasized that his project’s initial concept was revealed much earlier than the writing of the Tamil film, making any suggestion of inspiration unfounded.
Sujeeth also commented on actor Arjun Das appearing in both films, confirming that Das was cast in the Tamil project only after he had finished his shoot for ‘OG’.
The director was quick to praise his counterpart, saying, “I have known Adhik for a long time… He genuinely loves me and had sent long messages to me after Saaho.” He added that he is happy for Adhik and appreciated his work in ‘Mark Antony’.
