Fans of the Dulquer Salmaan-starrer ‘Lucky Baskhar’ have reason to rejoice. Director Venky Atluri has officially confirmed that a sequel to the hit finance-drama is in the works.
Atluri, currently engrossed with his next project ‘Suriya 46’, stated that ‘Lucky Baskhar 2’ remains a top priority once his current commitments are fulfilled.
In a recent interview, Atluri revealed that he is actively developing the script for the sequel. He clarified that, unlike ‘Lucky Baskhar’, his earlier success ‘Sir’ (released as ‘Vaathi’ in Tamil) will not be receiving a sequel, as it was always envisioned as a standalone story.
‘Lucky Baskhar’, released in 2024, garnered critical acclaim and commercial success for its gripping storyline set in the late ’80s and early ’90s Bombay, featuring Dulquer Salmaan as a bank cashier entangled in financial scams.
Meenakshi Chaudhary played the female lead. The confirmation of a sequel has heightened anticipation among fans eager to see the next chapter of Baskhar’s story.
