GV Prakash Kumar’s political thriller ‘Adangathey’ has finally locked in its theatrical release date on August 27.
This much-anticipated announcement comes as a relief to the film’s team and fans alike, following numerous delays due to various production and censor issues.
Directed by Shanmugam Muthusamy, ‘Adangathey’ features GV Prakash in dual roles, not only as the lead actor but also as the music composer.
The film also stars Sarath Kumar, Yogi Babu, and Surbhi in prominent roles. Produced by Sri Green Productions, the film’s release rights have been acquired by E5 Films, which will handle its worldwide distribution.
Director Shanmugam Muthusamy previously described ‘Adangathey’ as a “political thriller” and expressed his intention to release it ahead of the 2026 State Assembly Elections, believing its genre would resonate with the prevailing political climate in Tamil Nadu.
